Eligibility
Federal Poverty Level (FPL) Calculator
The Federal Poverty Level is the income baseline that drives almost every federal benefit program — SNAP, Medicaid, WIC, LIHEAP, Lifeline, ACA. This calculator shows your household's FPL thresholds at all the percentages that matter: 100% (Medicaid in some states + WIC poverty line), 130% (SNAP gross-income default), 138% (Medicaid expansion), 165%/185%/200% (state BBCE thresholds, WIC, LIHEAP).
SNAP Net Income Calculator
BBCE only waives the gross-income test. Your net income (after deductions) still must be at or below 100% FPL. This calculator applies the 20% earned-income deduction, the standard deduction, dependent care, excess shelter, and the medical deduction for elderly/disabled households.
Weekly to Monthly Income Converter for SNAP
SNAP doesn't use your weekly or biweekly paycheck as-is — it converts it to a monthly figure (weekly × 4.3, every two weeks × 2.15). Enter your pay and frequency to get the exact monthly income SNAP will compare against the limits.
SNAP Asset Test Calculator
Most states use BBCE, which waives the asset test entirely — your savings don't count. The states that still apply the federal asset test (Arkansas, Kansas, Mississippi, Missouri, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Wyoming) limit countable assets to $3,000 — or $4,500 if any member is 60+ or disabled. A few BBCE states keep a higher asset limit instead of waiving it, so confirm the final rule with your state. This calculator checks your assets against the federal limits.
Will My Car Disqualify Me From SNAP? Vehicle Asset Checker
Worried your car is too valuable for SNAP? In most states the asset test is waived, so no vehicle counts. Where it does apply, one car per adult is excluded and only an additional vehicle's value over $4,650 (or its equity) counts. Pick your state to see your situation.
SNAP Household Size Calculator
Your SNAP household is everyone who buys food and prepares meals together — but a spouse and your children under 22 always count. Getting household size right is the foundation of every other SNAP calculation.
Expedited SNAP Qualifier
Emergency SNAP is processed within 7 days for households in crisis. Check the three federal fast-track tests — very low income with little cash, or housing costs above your income plus resources, or destitute migrant farmworker.
Your benefit & deductions
Maximum SNAP Benefit Calculator
Estimate your monthly SNAP allotment using the FY2026 Thrifty Food Plan. Enter household size and monthly net income; we'll show the maximum allotment and your estimated benefit (max minus 30% of net income).
SNAP Buying Power Calculator
See what your monthly SNAP benefit works out to per person, per day, and per meal — and how it compares to the Thrifty Food Plan, USDA's minimal cook-at-home grocery budget. Enter your household size and benefit amount.
SNAP Benefit Cliff Calculator
Worried a raise or new job will cut your food stamps? Compare your estimated SNAP benefit at your current income vs. a higher income, and see whether you'd cross the eligibility limit — and whether you still come out ahead overall.
SNAP Benefit Phase-Out Visualizer
See the whole curve, not just the cliff. This charts how your monthly SNAP benefit falls — about 30 cents per dollar of net income — from the maximum allotment down to the income-limit cliff. Pick your household size and state, then drag the slider to read your benefit at any income.
Self-Employment Income Calculator for SNAP (Gig & 1099)
Drive for Uber, freelance, or run a small business? SNAP counts your NET self-employment income — gross receipts minus the cost of doing business (actual expenses or a standard ~40%). This tool gives you the monthly figure to enter as earned income.
Standard Utility Allowance (SUA) Calculator
States use a Standard Utility Allowance (SUA) instead of actual utility bills when computing the SNAP shelter deduction. This calculator shows your state's heating/cooling SUA (HCSUA), limited utility allowance (LUA), and telephone-only allowance for FY2026. SUA amounts are set by each state and updated annually — confirm yours with your state SNAP office.
Work rules & deadlines
SNAP Work-Requirement Exemption Checker (2026 Rules)
Does the SNAP work requirement (the 3-months-in-36 ABAWD time limit) even apply to you? Under the 2026 OBBBA rules it reaches age 64 and parents of kids 14+. Check whether you're exempt before worrying about the countdown.
ABAWD 3-Month Time-Limit Countdown
If you're an ABAWD (18-64, no kids under 14, no exemption), you can receive SNAP for only 3 months in any 36-month period unless you meet the 80-hour-per-month work requirement or live in a waived county. Enter your first ABAWD-month and we'll show how many months remain and when your 36-month clock resets.
SNAP Recertification Deadline Calculator
Most SNAP households must recertify every 6 or 12 months. Missing the deadline can mean a benefit gap or termination. Enter your certification start date and household type; we'll show your next recertification deadline and the window to submit paperwork.
Your EBT & payments
EBT Balance Check
Pick your state to get the official EBT customer-service number (on the back of your card), the right online portal and app, and every way to check your SNAP balance — phone, web, app, store receipt, or ATM.
SNAP Deposit Date
SNAP benefits load on a staggered schedule that's different in every state — by case number, SSN, last name, or birth date. Pick your state to see the rule and date range, with the official schedule to confirm your exact day.
Stolen or Skimmed EBT
Federal funding to replace electronically stolen SNAP ended December 20, 2024. Now only a few states replace it with their own funds. Pick your state for its current status, plus the lock-card, change-PIN, and reporting steps to take immediately.
Can I Buy This With EBT?
Type any food or store item and see whether SNAP covers it — instantly. Covers the tricky cases people actually ask about: hot rotisserie chicken, energy drinks, vitamins, birthday cakes, seeds, diapers, pet food, and more, with the rule behind each answer.
SNAP Restaurant Meals Program Finder
Most SNAP recipients can't buy restaurant or hot meals with EBT — but elderly, disabled, and homeless recipients can, in the 9 states that run a Restaurant Meals Program. Pick your state to see if it participates, the coverage, who qualifies, and where to find participating restaurants.
Other programs
Benefits Screener
One quick check routes you to the programs you may qualify for — SNAP, Medicaid, WIC, and Lifeline — with a likely/maybe/unlikely verdict and an apply link for each. Eligibility pointers only, never a combined dollar estimate.
Medicaid Eligibility Quick-Check (138% FPL)
In Medicaid-expansion states (40 states + DC), adults qualify at or below 138% of the Federal Poverty Level. If you lost SNAP at 130% FPL, you may still qualify for Medicaid. Pick your state and enter your monthly household income.
WIC Eligibility Calculator
WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) covers pregnant women, postpartum mothers, infants, and children under 5 with household income at or below 185% of the Federal Poverty Level — a higher threshold than SNAP. If you don't qualify for SNAP, you may still qualify for WIC.
Summer EBT (SUN Bucks) Eligibility Calculator
Summer EBT gives about $120 per school-age child for the summer. Children are auto-enrolled if your household gets SNAP, Medicaid, TANF, or free/reduced school meals; otherwise you can apply at or below 185% of the poverty line. Check your kids' eligibility.
